Being yourself with others and growing successful

Life has always been a battle for expression. On one hand you want to be successful in a community with different goals and preferences. On the other hand the community wants you to fully be committed to the goals and values of the community to help its stability and growth. These two worlds create a challenge of expression on the individual, which actions to take so you can be yourself and which actions does the community wants in order to accept you? Because if you want success in the community you have to aim for the community’s preferences but if you want to be yourself you have to aim for what you want and prefer. The solution comes from two factors that are at the heart of Inspirational Lifetools Academy and the evolution of life as we know it.

Being yourself

For you to be yourself freely without any obstructions, without any oppression from your social group, you must be extremely independent or comfortable with yourself. But we are all products of our environment to some extent. We have cultural and traditional customs that we have been programmed to follow to live in our community. It’s those customs that create challenges for the individual that wants to express their individuality in the world. It’s the old nature vs nurture debate, in this case *being yourself* is being natural. What that means is that you can be independent and rely on what is naturally given to you such as character, personality and your own experience. It is such acceptance that will give you confidences and competence to exist with yourself freely.

With others

On the other hand or leg of reality there is nurture, building relationships with others, building traditions, sharing knowledge and agreeing with people in your community to create stability. However there are obstacles to being with others. As people we have different personalities and different experiences that create conflicting ideas about how we should head our lives. These conflicting ideas create lack of agreement and lack of contribution to the stability of the community. So to be with others you must practice understanding, acceptance and integration of ideas and behaviour. The best practice with others is always to remember that you are responsible for the community. So go out and contribute, however you can.

Growing successful

Being successful means having independence so that you can be yourself and cooperate with others, and being with them without much conflict. This is the bridge that makes nature and nurture benefit on each other rather than compete. There are three steps that progress ones growth speedily: Experience, Self-reliance and Competence. Without these three things, as an individual you will not be able to make choices or be committed to them. And as member being with others you will not be able to be respected and participate in the group, if you do participate you will not be much effective.  That’s why I recommend that you work to promote more behaviour of independence and cooperation in your life. Use the studies of psychology to easily develop yourself as an individual and study more economics to learn how to relate and work with other people that are not like you.
